What's On Your Work Desk? Wednesday 295 - Wonky Houses

Welcome to a very wet and windy WOYWW hope it's better where you are.  I'm not leaving the house today unless its an emergency.  These Wednesdays come around so quickly.  It's that time of the week when we go visit Julia over on the Stamping Ground and then pop over to visit the artists who have left there links.  There's also a page over at Julias that explains what WOYWW is all about.

Here's my desk as I left it last night.  On the mixed media pad I've started drawing some Wonky houses and hearts which when finished will be traded at the Arizona weekend (4 weeks and counting woot).  In the background you can see 3 houses that I've already painted and embellished.

Well that's my desk for this weeks Wednesday blog hop.  I'm off to visit and have a nosey around what everyone else has on their desks that they're willing to share.

Thank you to everyone who visits and leaves a comment they really are appreciated.  Remember you can ignore the "I'M NOT ROBOT" message.

HAPPY WOYWW

What's On Your Work Desk? Wednesday #294

Hello to another WOYWW and time to nosey on over to Julia's blog the Stamping Ground to see what's on everyone's work desk.  You'll also find details of how you can join in the fun.  I like a bit of a nosey around don't you?

I'm afraid I have nothing to show on my desk this Wednesday.  This is how I left it before going off to the gym.  So here are the remains of the items I'd been using to make some inspirational cards for my gym buddy.  Packs of gems, my glue sticks, bottles of paint and a selection of rubber stamps which still need to be cleaned up - yeah I know I should do them straight away but hey I was on a roll.  I'm liking how my clean off paper is looking - that will go towards a new background to a canvas or something.

Here are the 2 inspirational postcards I made for Angela (my gym buddy).

Happy Wednesday

Oh and just a reminder and apology for the 'NOT A ROBOT' check instead of word verification you can ignore it.  It can't be removed unless you have a Google account which I do but have no idea how to remove it.

What's On Your Work Desk? Wednesday #293

Oh goodness well I nearly missed this weeks WOYWW - why didn't anyone remind me it was Wednesday?  Anyway I made it and all by myself hahaha.  Not much to show this week.  I have 3 floral arches made to take to Arizona with me in a few weeks time.  I'm meeting up with some arty friends - approx 40 of us and other than ATC's we'll be trading arches as well.  Oh and if you think I'm making 40 of them think again I can't possibly make that many unfortunately.  I will of course have a load of other things with me so there will be more than enough.  Well that's enough waffle from me.  Here's my desk..............oh and if you're wondering what WOYWW is then pop over to Julia's blog Stamping Ground and all will be revealed.

Before I go I want to share this with you regarding the "NOT A ROBOT" check (I've pinched it from Julia)

HOUSEKEEPING:  several of you are complaining that I (and others) have a 'NOT A ROBOT' check instead of word verification. You're quite right. But not by choice and we can't remove it. If you have a Google account, you can, I've discovered, just ignore it. But its been forced onto us Blogger users and we cant change it.  Sorry. And if you know different, please share!

Thank you for visiting my blog

Day 7 of 30 Paintings in 30 Days

Day 7 of 30 paintings in 30 days. Thought i would add other features to give another view of the eyes and this time I've gone for a brown eye - think I prefer the blue/green of my previous eye studies.

Water colour Daler Rowney pan set with a touch of acrylic (black and white).

What's On Your Work Desk? Wednesday 292

It's Wednesday already I can't believe how quickly this week is going by.  I'm sure January is supposed to be a long month and the weeks drag by.  Oh well never mind here we are for another WOYWW #292.  Pop over to the Stamping Ground and I'm sure Julia will tell you all about it.

So what's on my desk this wet and cold Wednesday?  This is how I left my desk last night.  You can see the 2 eye studies I did in pan water colours (Daler Rowney) for the 30 paintings in 30 Days challenge hosted by Leslie at Slices of Life.  One of my goals for 2015 is to become friends with pan and tube water colours and also to study the facial features to help improve my face drawings.

Here are a close up of the eyes.  As you can see this eye is far too wide.

This one is much better and more in proportion.  I worked out that the white parts of the eye were approx half the width of the iris.  Of course I'm well aware that everyone has different size eyes.

Thank you for visiting and leaving the comments each one is read and replied to.

30 Paintings In 30 Days - Day 6

I'm trying to perfect drawing facial features and get the proportions correct. I know every face is different but things like the eyes surely they are the same in every feature.  Studying my face in the mirror I noticed that the whites of the eye were half the width of the iris and that there was no white parts under the iris.  Today's eye study I measured/calculated the distance and I think it looks better than yesterdays study.  I'm still trying to loosen up painting with water colours.

This was day 5 eye study

Day 6  - measured/calculated the whites of the eye against the iris.

Day 4 & 5 or 30 Paintings in 30 Days January 2015

I didn't get time to make anything for day 4 as we had visitors and by the time they went it was late and it had gone dark.  Therefore I made 2 paintings today.  Well one is a mixed media painting in my altered book and the other is a study of an eye in watercolours - Daler Rowney pan set.  One of my goals for 2015 is to master pan and tube watercolours.

January Art Challenge

30 Paintings in 30 days.  I enjoyed this challenge last year so I'm doing it again this year.  Last year my theme was faces.  This year I'm having an open theme - we'll see where it leads to who knows I might produce a masterpiece hahha.

Here are day one and two as you can see they're not brilliant but they were already sketched out (found among my stash).  They are ATC size 2.5 x 3.5 inches.

You can see what everyone else is creating on Slices of Life blog by Leslie Saeta who is hosting the challenge.

Happy 2015

Happy New Year!!!

What are your goals for 2015?  I don't have as many as last year but the main one is that I'm going to do things which make ME happy.

I've seen quite a few posts on facebook with peoples 'word' for the year which got me thinking about what I want to achieve in the next 12 months.  I think for me it's going to be 'Focus' and 'Take Action' especially where my business is concerned.  I took a back step the last couple of years due to some personal stuff going on.

One of my goals last year was to read 52 books which unfortunately I didn't reach it but considering some of the books were over 1000 pages I think I did pretty well in reading 37.  Let's see if I can do it this year.  I've also signed up for an online class which doesn't start until April so that gives me time to get myself organised.  I'll also be taking part in 100 faces in 365 challenge - there's no timescale to this one.  I also want to tackle watercolours.  As some of you already know watercolours and I are not friends (unless it's the inkense pencils or blocks in which case we get on like a house on fire).

So in summary -
1.  Do things which make me happy
2.  Focus and take action
3.  Read 52 books
4.  Complete the online class
5.  Draw 100 faces
6.  Become friends with watercolours
7.  30 Paintings in 30 days (Jan 2015)

That's a start to my goals and I'm sure as last year there will be some unexpected gifts which will be thrown my way.

Oh and before I go another thing to add to the list is to keep the blog posts as regular as I can.  Why not subscribe or follow me by email and lets encourage each other in our goals.

Happy New Year
Anita
Lets make it the best one yet.
